Filling Prescriptions
Patients can get their prescriptions filled at more than 68,000 retail pharmacies located nationwide. The list includes both independent and major drugstores. 

They can also use our home delivery pharmacy partner, The Pharmacy at Bergheim. Some restrictions apply. Shipping is free.  Prescribers can electronically submit a prescription to:

Requesting Exceptions
If the medication you prescribed is not covered on the formulary, you can call our Customer Services Team at 1.800.591.6092 to confirm the treatment options available.

If you as the doctor determines that your patient needs a specific medication not currently on the Formulary, you can ask for an exception to have it approved if:

  • The drug you need is not on the formulary and it is the best treatment option
  • The drug needs pre-authorization, has limits, or requires step-therapy
  • The drug is covered, but you would like it to be covered at a higher level

Drugs That Need Prior Authorization
To request a coverage review (prior authorization) explain in writing why your patient needs a certain medication and EnvisaCare Rx can determine if it will be covered.  We will review using rules based on FDA-approved prescribing and safety information, clinical guidelines and uses that are considered reasonable, safe and effective.

Step Therapy is a type of Prior Authorization that applies to both traditional and specialty drugs. Our program is designed to make sure that patients have at least tried a less expensive drug, that’s proven effective for a specific condition, before moving onto a more expensive drug.
